A British man was deported from Sweden and separated from his Swedish wife after a five-year battle to remain in the country following Brexit, according to The Guardian.

The 65-year-old former business director, identified as Charles, arrived at Heathrow Airport with only two bags and nowhere to go, the newspaper reported. He had been put on a flight in Stockholm hours earlier.

The Guardian linked his deportation to the end of Brexit-related residency arrangements and Sweden's strict immigration stance.
