Brewers Survive Game 1 as Padres' Potential Go-Ahead Homer Hits Roof

The Milwaukee Brewers escaped with a Game 1 victory in their National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres after a potential go-ahead home run in the ninth inning struck the roof at American Family Field and fell back into play for an out.

The Padres appeared poised to take the lead late in the game, but the stadium's roof intervened, turning what looked like a decisive blow into a missed opportunity. The outcome shifted momentum back to the Brewers, who held on to secure the win.

A Series-Opening Twist

The unusual ending added a dramatic twist to the opening game of the series, with the ballpark's structure playing an unexpected role in the result. For San Diego, the near-miss will likely be remembered as a costly break in a tight postseason contest.

Milwaukee now holds an early advantage in the best-of-five series as both teams prepare for Game 2.
