Belgium Says It Has Substantial Evidence of Russian Involvement in Recent Incidents

Belgian Defence Minister Theo Francken said that authorities have collected substantial evidence pointing to Russian involvement in a series of recent incidents on Belgian territory. Francken said Russia bears responsibility for at least several of the episodes, though he did not immediately detail the full scope of the incidents or the specific evidence gathered.

The minister's remarks add Belgium to a growing list of European countries that have publicly raised concerns in recent months about suspected Russian activity within their borders, ranging from surveillance of critical infrastructure to unexplained drone sightings near sensitive sites.
