A baby boy found wrapped in a 116-year-old newspaper with twine looped around his neck was unlawfully killed, according to a coroner's ruling announced Thursday. The child, known only as Baby Auckland, was discovered under floorboards at a house in Bishop Auckland, Durham.

Coroner Crispin Oliver concluded the infant had been garotted by an unknown person, calling it a "terrible thing" that happened to the child. The circumstances surrounding the death remain unknown.
