Australian Couple Confirmed Among Passengers on Diverted flydubai Flight to Israel

An Australian couple was among the passengers on board a flydubai flight to Tel Aviv that was dramatically diverted after one of the pilots allegedly stabbed the other, according to the Israeli embassy in Australia.

The embassy confirmed to The Guardian on Thursday that the passengers were a Jewish couple from Sydney who were on board the diverted flight.

No further details about the couple's identities, condition, or current whereabouts were provided by the embassy.

The flight's diversion followed the alleged attack in the cockpit, though further specifics of the incident, including the circumstances leading to it, were not included in the available report.

Authorities and flydubai have not released additional information about the broader group of passengers or the airline's response to the incident at the time of publication.
