Pezeshkian: Iran Will Not Surrender to Military Force but Believes in Diplomacy
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian pledged before the United Nations General Assembly that his country will not capitulate to the war started by the United States and Israel.
Iranian President Masoud Bezishkian, in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday, vowed that the Islamic Republic of Iran would not submit to the war that Tehran says the United States and Israel launched against it last February, according to France 24.
In his speech, Bizeshkian said that US President Donald Trump "must know that the resistance of the Iranian people will escalate" in the face of sanctions imposed on his country and increasing international pressure, stressing that Iran "will not bow its head" and will not bow to these pressures.
Sticking to diplomacy
While stressing his country's refusal to surrender militarily, the Iranian president stressed that Tehran still believes in a diplomatic solution as a way to overcome the current crisis with the United States and its allies.
The remarks were part of a series of striking interventions at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly this week, during which a number of world leaders addressed the repercussions of the war in the region and the future of relations between Iran and Western powers.
