Sky News Arabia reported that hearing loss in many cases does not begin with an obvious or sudden change, but rather develops gradually, to the point where the affected person becomes accustomed to hearing words in a muffled manner or turning up the television volume without realizing there is an actual problem with their hearing ability.

The report noted that there are a number of everyday signs that may seem trivial or insignificant, but in reality they reveal early indicators that deserve attention and specialized medical evaluation.

Among these signs, according to the report, are frequently asking others to repeat themselves, difficulty understanding conversations in crowded or noisy places, and the sensation that people are "mumbling" rather than speaking clearly.

The report also highlights hearing a continuous ringing in the ears as a warning sign, along with needing to raise the volume of the television or radio noticeably more than is typical for others in the same location.

The report explained that other indicators include difficulty pinpointing the source of a sound or the direction it comes from, as well as feeling tired or mentally fatigued after lengthy conversations due to the extra effort required to understand speech.

The report adds to the list of hidden signs avoiding certain social situations or gatherings due to difficulty following conversations in them, as well as hearing certain sounds more clearly than others, especially high-pitched tones.

Health experts, according to the report, recommend consulting a specialist doctor upon noticing any of these signs recurring, as early diagnosis and intervention help prevent the problem from worsening and improve the quality of life for the affected person.
