Archive of Oasis Recordings to Be Auctioned Despite Band's Objections
More than 100 hours of concert, rehearsal and conversation recordings amassed by the band's former sound engineer carries a guide price of up to £1.6m.
An archive containing more than 100 hours of Oasis recordings is set to go to auction with a guide price of between £1.2m and £1.6m, despite objections from the band, according to the Guardian.
The collection includes concert recordings, rehearsals, soundchecks and candid conversations between Noel and Liam Gallagher, the report said.
The material was compiled by Huw Richards, who worked as the band's sound engineer from the 1994 release of their debut album, Definitely Maybe, until 2001, according to the Guardian.
The archive is being sold by Richards's son, Owain, and comprises 209 DAT tapes, 73 analogue cassettes and three MiniDiscs, the report said.
The Guardian's report did not specify the nature of the band's objections to the sale or provide additional detail on the auction house or timeline.
