Residents of the Saudi capital reported two loud explosions and a fire in an Aramco fuel storage tank on the night of Saturday to Sunday.
Riyadh residents were awakened by an attack warning alert followed by two major explosions. According to witnesses, black smoke and flames were visible near the Saudi capital's airport. Agence France-Presse confirmed that a fuel storage tank belonging to Saudi oil giant Aramco located near the airport was on fire.
This incident comes as fighting resumes between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthis, and marks the first attack of this kind against the capital since tensions escalated.
