Alibaba has open-sourced an artificial intelligence model designed to detect cancer and more than 150 other medical conditions, according to Anadolu Agency.

The model analyzes contrast-enhanced CT scans of 18 abdominal organs, the company said, and is capable of identifying a broad range of diseases and abnormalities, including malignant tumors.

By making the model open-source, Alibaba is allowing researchers, developers and medical institutions to access and potentially build upon the technology.

Further technical details about the model's development, training data or performance benchmarks were not immediately available from the source.
