The women said they had fled persecution in their home countries and had hoped to begin new lives in the United States. They were instead deported to Cameroon, where they have no personal ties, and are now housed in a center in Yaoundé, according to the report.
The deportations were carried out under a secret agreement negotiated between the leaders of the United States and Cameroon, France 24 reported, with details provided by France 24 journalist Daviv Rich.
