An 11-year-old boy is in serious condition in hospital after being shot in the face and neck at a home in Sydney's north-west, The Guardian reported.

According to the report, emergency services responded to a shooting at a property in Norwest at about 5pm on Monday.

The Guardian said five other people who were in the house at the time were unharmed, according to police.
