Sen. Jeanne Shaheen reportedly halted the sale, citing unaddressed concerns over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's response to lawmakers.

The proposed sale, which still requires congressional approval, comes as Saudi Arabia seeks U.S. support in its conflict with Yemen's Houthi movement, according to Al Jazeera.

According to a French media press review, the sale would include roughly 40,000 one-ton bombs, though no official confirmation has been provided by the U.S. or Israeli governments.
The State Department cleared the sale to help Ukraine develop and modernize its air defense capabilities, according to Ukrinform.

The Washington Post reports the deal would be financed through a US grant and loan program for foreign arms purchases, according to TASS.

The proposed arms deal comes as critics accuse Israel of using such munitions in strikes that have killed large numbers of civilians.
