A presentation by Russia's health minister indicates that older residents place significantly greater demand on the compulsory health insurance system, according to TASS.
New figures cited by the BBC show more than 100,000 people in Japan are now 100 years old or older, with women making up 88% of the group.
The number of people in Japan aged 100 or older has climbed to a record 107,677, marking the 56th consecutive year of increase, according to Anadolu Agency.
